I was rather hesitant to start a blog. I had a xanga for several years, which I enjoyed, but it seemed like eventually all I did was complain when life was bad, and not post at all when life was going well (or at least going the way I felt it should). It became an unhealthy vent, so I stopped posting.
I'm starting this blog for several reasons.
The main reason is that I've been thinking a lot about what I'll be doing next year, and right now my strongest lead is pointing to the middle of the woods in the middle of Virginia. I'll be surrounded by old people and high school students (if it pans out). Facebook can only go so far, and I felt that a blog would be a good way to keep people in touch with what's going on in my life (more than just my favorite movies and whatever hilarious one-liner I decide to put as my status at the time).
I also feel like I've been slightly missing out. That's sounds kinda pathetic and that's not really what I mean. However, I do think that blogging (and reading/responding to my friends' blogs) could be beneficial to my personal development, as well as strengthen relationships with others.
Either way, I hope that I kinda keep up with this.

blogging is a full time job, you can't just do what I do:
"So I woke up today, and I had peanut butter sandwiches for breakfast, then I went to class...."
imagine: 3 christian men blogging from Lloyd Avenue. Nice.
btw, my word verification was "vupev".
actually, I clicked on the little wheelchair man below the word verification box, and I heard the weirdest sounds.
It's addicting man. I think there's tons of stuff to write about that doesn't come up in normal conversation, which is the great side of blogging. It allows people to think about more specific things and reflect a little.
My only tip is...Don't journal to the point that people don't need to talk to you anymore to find out what's going on. Also, every successful blog is supposed to target a really specific niche of people. In that case, i think our target niche is "Christian guys and the girls who love them."
1. miller - i think that target niche is hilarious. but ... prolly quite effective.
2. jt - i like how you assume that your status updates on fb are hilarious.
3. its okay. we accept your patheticness.
4. you guys are almost inspirational. i am almost motivated to write a real post about something of substance. maybe itll happen one of these days.
wow
commenting about blogging
this is funny and fun b/c i'm doing it too. u guys are too much.
melon, you should write a deep post. i've enjoyed reading them and have even been encouraged from them. maybe that's the extra motivation you need.
yea 67, blogs are times where you can also type weird names for ppl that you would NEVER speak aloud, like "jacuzzi jo"
if u want comments, i'd say don't write posts like mine. i haven't gotten a comment in like a month, but joses just reads them and appreciates my 'style.'
and ouch melon, i feel 2. for 67, lol
